Close to home foodie tour, Saturday 15th October

Discover the yummiest food in Canterbury, grown or made:

Close to home is a free tour for Christchurch foodlovers to sample & support some of our local food heroes while meeting some other Christchurch foodies. You can meet us at whatever time suits you on the day, so you can come to one part only if you want. To make your life easy, bring cash with you on the day for breakfast/lunch or impulse buys! You do not need to be a member of The Potluck Club to join us, so invite any of your friends who are interested, or do your own tour with your friends.

————————————————————————-

Part 1

Breakfast (optional) and browse at Christchurch Farmers Market, 10:30am, 15th October

Meet on the steps at the entrance to Riccarton House, or ring Zo on 021 857 559 if you arrive after 10 and we’ll let you know where we’ve wandered off to.

Part 2

Checking out Presenting Canterbury, optional lunch to follow. 12:30pm, 15th October

Meet at the bridge to the Botanical Gardens from Armagh St Car Park,  or ring Zo on 021 857 559 if you arrive after 12:30pm and we’ll let you know where we’ve wandered off to.

If people are keen I can show you where to forage for onionweed (it’s a little like garlic chives) nearby :)

——————————————————————————–

If you’d like to bikepool or carpool, please leave a comment with your rough location and whether you are offering a lift or require one.

If it’s raining heavily on the day I will post an update here as to whether the tour will go ahead – we will probably just postpone to the next Saturday if it is raining. UPDATE: Apparently there’s patchy spitting in Christchurch so far so we’ll go ahead for now and if it gets too bad just text me/ring me to see if we’re still wandering. We may also do this next week AS WELL if the weather’s a little better so stay tuned ;)

Yeah I know…Occupy Christchurch runs all day though so you can head along after. Plus you’ll already be in town :D
